Shortly after its inauguration in 1985 the Birla technological know-how Centre, Hyderabad, India, all started a sequence of lectures by way of Nobel Laureates and different scientists of overseas renown, frequently in Physics and Astronomy, occasionally in existence Sciences and Chemistry.
The current assortment more often than not involves lectures on frontier themes. The transcript of every lecture is preceded by way of a quick biography of the Nobel Laureate/Scientist in question.
The lectures are aimed toward, and available to a large non-specialist yet greater informed audience.

He came to Hyderabad accompanied by his wife Lady Stella and thoroughly enjoyed the sights, a press conference and of course his lecture. He remarked that there was a lot more enthusiasm for science in the Indian media compared to the Western media. We had suggested a unique trip to the tea gardens of the North Eastern State of Assam, after his visit to which he readily agreed. Lady Stella had spent her childhood in India and the Porters visited a couple of nostalgic places which still evoked memories of the Raj.
500 GeV or 1000 GeV ) is very difficult. Several groups work on a design for such a machine: Stanford (USA), CERN (Geneva), Novosibirsk (USSR) and KEK (Japan). It is only fair to say that, even if the money would be available, we would at present not have a quite satisfactory design for such a machine. In fact, the next large accelerators will probably still be circular proton machines. However, in the long term we will have to switch over to linear electron-positron colliders. The rest of this talk will be devoted to an explanation of the difficulties that are encountered in designing such a machine.
3, as defined in the table, the abundances of H2 , He3 , He4 , Li7 and of course H1 are approximately given by nucleosynthesis in an inhomogeneous universe. Moreover Table 2 shows that the primordial 24 William Fowler Table 1. 11 AND Ωb = 1, Malaney and Fowler, Ap. The other parameters used in obtaining these conclusions are summarized in the final paragraph which follows. (p) A0 measures back diffusion of neutrons into proton-rich region in which Yn would otherwise be small Yn(p) (t) = A0 Yn(n) (t) A0 = 1 for rapid diffusion relative to time scale for nucleosynthesis.
